Sweet Expressions
February....the month of expressing our love, caring and compassion for those around us. I want to take this Valentines Day to express my love to my family, friends and readers. I am truly grateful for you and for all you do to bring joy into my heart! I feel loved by you!
Sometimes celebrating a holiday of love is hard because of our life’s dealings and our personal shortcomings. We all experience times when we have suffered terribly; have been hurt abused and misused. I have felt those sufferings at different times in my life. It’s hard to overcome the hurt that we have received when we have been negatively affected by the bad choices of others. Or it could be that we have made choices in our lives that have brought us shame and we feel like we can’t turn things around.
I want my ‘Sweet Expressions’.... my Valentine to you today to be a message of love that will let you know that you don’t have to carry that burden forever...that you can reach out for the ‘Light’ as you pray for those who have despitefully used you, or for yourself to feel forgiveness and the love of God. My desire is for you to choose to have a hope in Christ... “And ye cannot bear all things now; nevertheless, be of good cheer, for I will lead you along. The kingdom is yours, and the riches of eternity are yours.” D&C 78:18
You are eternally loved by your Father in Heaven! What better Valentine can we have than that?
We are under the watchcare of a compassionate caregiver, who extends Himself in kindness and a nurturing spirit. Jesus knows you by name and has a personal interest in you. When you turn to His Light, He will nourish you with love and kindness, He will heal your heart and restore your soul. This is His loving promise that I’m praying you will embrace.
As a child of God, I’m trying to love as He did, I find it easy to give hugs and to say “I Love You”....but I feel it’s more difficult to show it in a way that it can be genuinely felt. I truly hope and pray that I am always able to send ‘Sweet Expressions’ of how much I love you so that you know that you are loved and that you will always be in my heart.
The deepest kind of love we can give is when we love someone for who God created them to be. When someone loves you the way you are, all that you are...all that you have been and all that you are yet to be...this is someone that understands God’s love for you and chooses to love you just the same.
It’s awe inspiring to know that someone cares about you so deeply.
As you feel loved, I’m hoping that you will embrace another soul who seems to be struggling. When you do you will experience God’s divine love. Each of us can create a sweet and loving environment for others where we will be empowered to help them take a step closer to their Savior, Jesus Christ.
What if... when we come into this loving environment, we learn who we really are and what our role will be in this last chapter of the world’s history, prior to the 2nd coming of our Savior?
I loved painting this little cookie making sweetie; that is included in this weeks message. His devotion to his task brought so much joy to my heart. We too can express our love by so many little, but meaningful actions; enjoy this time of sharing and caring. Let’s enjoy every moment that we can express our love for another, executed as our “Sweet Expressions”, in the whole scheme of things...in God’s beautiful plan. What small endeavor can we do to make this life a sweet experience as we care for the well being of another?
There are times that we may be feeling wounded and weary ourselves, but we will find healing and a joyful heart as we reach out and lift our brother, sister, friend or even a foe.
So it is with loving and caring. That perfect love we call charity or “the pure love of Christ” is needed in our family, in each of our homes, and our neighborhoods....through that love, hearts will be changed, healing can be made manifest and desires will be born to do God’s will.
It is loving and caring without weariness that will bring the light that is needed to shine and brighten your surroundings as you go about your daily life. Your light and love will bring people to you. It will draw others to heal you in places that you thought were past healing.
Remember God’s promise and turn to the Light and Love He has for you, He will nourish you with His love and kindness, He will heal your heart and restore your soul.
We are all children of a Heavenly Father who loves us. We can gloriously return to Him as we come to understand His love and in return...give that love to everyone around us.
How can you give the love you feel in your heart to someone this Valentines Day?
Embrace this life more fully by sharing your ‘Sweet Expressions” - with God and with other people. We all grow when we love well....without becoming weary in expressing that love. Hearts will be changed, healing can be made manifest and desires will be born to do God’s will.
Love changes hearts....your heart and my heart.
Happy Valentines Day!! I love you!
