Something To ‘Think’ About

“My thoughts are not your thoughts,

neither are your ways my ways saith the Lord”

Isaiah 55:8

Beloved Child Of God

Each one of us is a beloved spirit son or daughter of Heavenly Parents and each has a divine nature and destiny. Heavenly Father generously shares a portion of His divinity within us. We come to this earth to nurture and discover the divine seeds within us. That divine nature comes as a gift from Him. How can you develop that which is really you? If you ever question that the spark of divinity is really there, kneel in prayer and ask your Heavenly Father for the answers you seek.

Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf has said that “God sent you here to prepare for a future greater than anything you can imagine.” That future day comes alive when you do more than just exist; it comes alive when you live your life to the full measure of your creation.

Just knowing that I am a ‘Child of God’, and that I’m here on this earth to become as He is, has given me a lot of cause to be aware of my thoughts - where have my thoughts created good and where have they led me astray?

The good thing is that because of our divinity, we can change our thoughts and therefore change our lives. As we learned in the last Blog, God has also, in His love and goodness, given us a process or plan that enables us to make the desired changes in our lives.

Several years ago I was struggling with knowing what I was suppose to do with my life. I knew there was more to life, but I just didn’t quite know how to access it. I felt that the choices I was making wasn’t elevated enough to be considered ... from a child of God. Then I was reminded that to be like God, I needed to think differently. I knew that I needed to make changes to my thoughts ... because we are what we think! In Proverbs we are taught, “ For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” (Prov. 23:7)

Thought Patterns and Processes

I invite you to notice your thought pattern - does it lead you to a good, blessed ending? Or are they destructive thoughts, taking you down forbidden paths...where you dwell in darkness, misery and hurt. Do you see others as those who are having the same miserable thoughts and intents, when in reality they are choosing light and love and your wicked thoughts turn what is real into deception?

Once we begin to see the divinity in ourselves, we will be able to see it in others and will begin to judge them and their motives more fairly.

Take time to honestly see where your thoughts are, don’t dwell on the negative and get stirred up, but it’s important to see ‘what is’, then you can ‘flip’ those destructive thoughts to become creative thoughts, turning your life around.

Things are not always what they seem. You, your thoughts, are the creator of your reality, good or bad, you are making the choices.

Be Aware of the Thoughts You Dwell On

Heed what you heed! I heard this phrase a few years ago and was impressed with it. The word heed as a noun, means to pay careful attention. As a verb, it means to pay attention to; take notice of.

Our thoughts paint a picture of how we see our world. If we don’t love the world we have created then we need to abandon the thoughts we have been heeding, or weed them out, then go back or retreat to a place of peace and plant new seeds, new delightful and loving thoughts that can bring forth a brighter outcome, and can glorify God.

Participate In His Creative Work

With this process we are learning to become creators like our Father in Heaven. We all have the divine gift of creation, we need to understand this is because of God’s love for us and His desire for us to progress. We need to know about this so that we can embrace it more fully... what is it? He has extended to us an invitation to participate in His creative work ... to become as He is. How do we become co-creators with God? How do we grow into our likeness of Him?

Since I have learned this concept, I have noticed one area of my life where I have created a fearful circumstance that has caused me physical grief. I haven’t known how to overcome this situation that is so traumatizing to me, until I took some time to ponder and reflect on ‘what is”.

I concluded that my mind is heeding a negative thought and has placed fear in my heart. That fear continues to rise every time I’m in the same circumstance. It even seems to have grown in intensity.

Now that I know ‘what is’ I can choose to ‘flip’ that thought and think or dwell on a better scenario or outcome. With my divine gift, and creative thoughts I can change my circumstance from fear to faith in Christ to empower me to change my negative creation. Heed what you heed and God can empower you. “For With God, Nothing Shall Be Impossible.” Luke 1:37

“When you change the way you look at things,

the things you look at change.”

~ Wayne Dyer

Joy In The New Outcome

This change or repentance process takes effort, just like weeding your garden is physically exhausting, but focus on how wonderful it feels to look back and see how beautiful your garden spot looks with all the weeds removed.

It is important at this time to fill the vacant spot with good seeds or seedlings. Next blog we will discuss the steps you can take to transform your garden spot with those things that are beautiful. What are the good characteristics or attributes that you desire to bring in to beautify your garden or your new life? As we plant and nurture these good seeds, our hidden or dying garden will become alive and glorious. It becomes revitalized with change and has grown healthier and happier.

There is always joy in the new outcome, the transformation that you will bring into your life. This is also how we manifest our dreams and reach our goals. There is something magic inside of all of us, waiting for the perfect moment to come forth. Experience God’s creative work, your interaction with nature begins an amazing transformation not only in the garden, but also in your life.

Tomorrow when you awaken, the slate will be clean,

and a new day will stretch before you.

Don’t start this New Year with broken pieces of yesteryear, everyday is a fresh start. Each day is a new beginning. Every morning we wake up is the first day of your new tomorrow.
