Gracefully Creating Yourself
Life isn’t about finding yourself.
Life is about creating yourself!
I have been contemplating my next journey for several months now...knowing that I have more dreams to fulfill but not knowing which one is also God’s plan and will for me.
I had set a goal earlier in the year to learn more about the gifts of compassion and charity, and apply them to my life. I’ve taken little steps here and there and now I’m finding that I’m being given insights into my present life where charity and compassion are really needed. I’m also being directed to the enlightenment I need to help me make that change in My Story.
We all have a story...our very own story that we have already written, either knowingly or unknowingly. Mostly life just happens or comes about and we don’t even realize that we’ve made certain choices that contribute and create our story...whether it’s a good story or bad story, we are the creator.
We use a loving gift from God called Agency to make choices each day of our lives. Once we appreciate that gift more fully, and are mindful of our choices, we will make them with the higher purpose to become the person God designed us to be and to bless the lives of others.
Another gift that we don’t recognize or use often enough is Grace. This enabling power from God allows us to obtain the blessings we desire in this life as we repent or change from our poor choices. Our faith in this gift, given lovingly by Jesus Christ, can bring the joy we are seeking as we choose to use it each day. Change can’t happen any other way.
When we choose to Gracefully create ourself, we will see our lives changing for the better. We will see and appreciate our life purpose in a new light. And a new chapter will be written. Opposition and challenges become the steppingstones we need to create our new chapter. Slowly we will begin to move out of our present lives of pain and sorrow, into a life of joy and happiness!
You can’t go back and change the beginning,
but can start where you are and change the ending.
~ C. S. Lewis
I thought my story had some pretty good chapters; I’ve moved through some challenges and battles and have become the ‘victor’. I have served my Father in Heaven and I have raised a noble family. But, now I desire to apply Grace to change it up.
The editing to all our stories needs to continue. Heavenly Father is wanting to give us all He has, so there is so much more that is required for us to reach the final chapter...which we are working endlessly for it to say; ‘They lived happily ever after’....not ‘The End’.
There is still so much to dream about, experience, to change and overcome. We are to always be working on and improving our choices that create our becoming and our happiness.
Many people don’t want to look at their story and see or desire change. It seems too big, too overwhelming, confusing, etc. I admit I felt the same. The last few months have been confusing as I tried to see what the Lord desired of me. I knew my story needed a change I just didn’t know what to change or what editing I needed to go through.
Now, that the Lord can see that I’m serious about taking a new direction, I’ve been flooded with inspiration and the rewriting begins...there will be new battles to fight and more victories to share...and I know that with the Lord walking beside me, I will be successful!
My dreams and a new journey will add to and change my story. I’m looking forward to turning pages that will tell of my overcoming and victories over self.
What about you? Are you tired of your story of pain and misery....of love and lost, or poor and unable? You can rewrite your story. You can feel the empowerment of overcoming the challenges that keep you fighting and striving. You can break tree of any sin and weakness that has created your present chapters.
In the end, only three things matter;
how much you loved, how gently you lived,
and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.
~ Buddha
Take time to turn to the Lord for His guiding light. He wants your story to be a masterful piece. Keep writing and rewriting...until your final chapter... where you will say; ‘And they lived happily ever after!’
Life is to be enjoyed....let’s do it Gracefully!!
Love, Jeannie
